The gubernatorial candidate of the All progressive Congress (APC), Mr Adebayo Adelabu Penkelemesi has allegedly stated on a radio station, that "tertiary institutions must be self- funded. And our government will ensure that if voted to power".

Speaking on Fresh- FM in Ibadan on Saturday, Mr Adelabu Penkelemsi said "the N1m per session the students of the Technical University Ibadan pays are nothing bad. I cannot condemn the management that fixed the fees"

The statements has continued to generate reactions from people. Feelers are expressing their bothered heart over the statements especially the students whose institutions are currently under lock.

"Ajimobi has the best education policy and my government shall follow his legacy.

"Education shouldn't be totally free, hence, am in support of Ajimobi education policy.

"My government will try to find lasting solution to the LAUTECH problem.

A student of LAUTECH who simply identified herself as Rebecca said " with the statement of Mr Adelabu penkelemesi On self funding, I've no hope to further my education. There's no how my school will be self funded without increment of school fees.

She lamented how it took her all days hawking to raise some money for her school fees.

"I go into all day hawking just to pay my school fees. I hardly attend classes, no one to cater for my needs. Now with this statement of Mr Adelabu, if elected, I doubt I would be able to further my education, "she said.

Meanwhile an indigenous socio-political organization, Oyo Vanguard has also criticized Mr. Adebayo Adelabu, the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC over his appraisal of Governor Abiola Ajimobi and blueprints for the state.

The group lambasted Adelabu over what it termed as a sheer ignorance of state of affairs as affected the teeming traumatic residents of the state going by his exchanges on a popular radio program in Ibadan, the state capital on Saturday.

The coordinator of the group, Com. Wale Ayeni, said the assembly had found it expedient now to reawaken the consciousness of the hapless people of the state in voting a right and visionary candidate to succeed the sitting Governor.
