The Vice- Chancellor of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Professor Michael Olufisayo Ologunde, has been named winner of the 2019 'Southwest Nigeria Education ICON' award.
A letter written to him, dated April 16, 2019, and signed by Pastor Honey Olawale, Chairman, screening committee, on behalf of the organizers of the 2nd Southwest Nigeria Educational awards and lectures, said criteria for the award included Professionalism, Integrity under which thorough background check was conducted and External Testimonies.
The award was conferred at a ceremony held on Tuesday May 21, 2019, at the Redeemers' University Main Auditorium, Ede, Osun State.
Keynote Speaker at the event was Prof. Christian Tientcha Happi, who spoke on "Curbing Emerging Infectious Diseases on the African Continent".
